Manila Chinatown, commonly known as Binondo is one of the most visited place here in Manila. Well, that’s true because I always love to go back to this place for some reasons.
Binondo, established in 1594, this little town is known to be the oldest Chinatown in the world. This cultural heritage offers a lot of things that a local or a visitor can enjoy. When I come here, I always love to just sit and hangout to any restaurant here and eat noodles, munch over different flavors of hopia, taste their delicious wanton and dumplings and of course, drink my all-time favorite milk tea! After that, I’ll just roam around and explore the area until I get tired.
How to get here?
Option 1. Take the LRT. Alight and exit at Carriedo Station. Walk towards the Sta. Cruz Church. From there, you’ll see the arc—the entrance to the Chinatown.
Option 2. Take the Jeepney. There are lots of jeepneys going in / passing by Binondo. You may take the jeep with a signboard: “Divisoria” if you want to take off just in front of the Binondo Church. Otherwise, if you want to take off in front of the arc (entrance near Sta. Cruz Church), take a jeep with a signboard: “Sta. Cruz / Lawton”.
Option 3. Take a cab. It won't save you more money, but this would be the easiest. Just tell the taxi driver to drop you off at the Binondo Church—a common landmark in the heart of Chinatown.
Now, here are the things that I love to see and enjoy everytime I come here.
