Since Koreanovelas have started to pop out and dominate our television screens, the Korean culture has also made its way one step closer to our hearts.
No wonder, their food too, has become a subject of curiosity for some Pinoys. Some like it while others are still learning to love its distinct, unique taste.
To be honest, I am not so familiar with Korean dishes. I have not even tried an authentic one. Why? I think Korean restaurants here in the Philippines are too expensive, not affordable and budget friendly; maybe because some of the ingredients are rare and not all accessible or only a chef with such culinary expertise has the skill to cook these kind of dishes.
I am not closing my mouth for this though. I also want to try and experience this kind of Korean tastebud-tickling sensation too.
Good thing, I found a very affordable Korean food corner here in Baguio City. It's called Mr. Kimbob.

Its location is so accessible to everyone and very easy to find because it's just located at the food court at SM Baguio. Aside from being so affordable, Mr. Kimbob can promise that their cuisines are always freshly cooked and heart-friendly too.

Preparing the Bibimbob for me |
Until I tried one of their best sellers, the Bibimbob (or traditionally called Bibimbap), a Korean signature dish. This healthy food is usually served on a very hot platter where you can find portions of fresh carrots, kimchi, and some other vegetables all surrounding a cup of steamed rice with a sunny-side-up egg on top, drizzled with minced beef, pork or chicken. It also comes along with a special Korean sauce called Gochujang that usually adds a richer flavor to it.
Since Bibimbob means “mixed rice”, all you need to do is mix all these ingredients well with the Gochujang sauce and enjoy!

This meal just costs P99. Affordable? Yes, indeed! Not only that, this dish does not have too much oil or has any greasy feel. It's also not too salty or would taste like there's a lot of MSG in it. Overall, it's healthier than any other fast-food restaurant around.
You might as well want to check their menu here.
Surprisingly, they can't only be found in Baguio City alone. They have now 12 branches here in Luzon!
Thus, thanks to Mr. Kimbob for making healthy Korean food more affordable and more accessible.
